Documentation of the main University services is freely accessible on the website:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/it.unipi.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/it.unipi.it\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For more details visti the <a href=\"https:\/\/it.unipi.it\/organizzazione\/did-direzione-infrastrutture-digitali\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Direzione Infrastrutture Digitali<\/a> (ICT) page.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"56\" data-end=\"78\"><strong data-start=\"56\" data-end=\"78\">Essential services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"80\" data-end=\"209\">The Department\u2019s premises are covered by the University\u2019s Wi-Fi network, which can be accessed using your University credentials.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/it.unipi.it\/configurazioni\/credenziali-di-accesso\/assegnazione-delle-credenziali-di-ateneo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Assignment of University credential<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/autenticazione.unipi.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Password recovery\/change<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/it.unipi.it\/configurazioni\/posta\/configurazione-posta-su-outlook-com-docenti-e-tab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Exchange email on Outlook.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/it.unipi.it\/configurazioni\/posta\/configurazione-posta-exchange-su-server-unipi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Exchange email on UniPi server [being phased out]<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/it.unipi.it\/configurazioni\/sicurezza-e-privacy\/vpn-di-ateneo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VPN access<\/a> (direct connection to the University network from external or public networks)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"55\" data-end=\"197\"><strong data-start=\"55\" data-end=\"81\">Printer configuration:<\/strong> The Xerox B7030 multifunction printers are accessible only through the wired network at the following IP addresses:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"199\" data-end=\"316\">\n<li data-start=\"199\" data-end=\"258\">\n<p data-start=\"201\" data-end=\"258\"><strong data-start=\"201\" data-end=\"216\">172.22.23.3<\/strong> (replacing the former <em data-start=\"239\" data-end=\"244\">lj6<\/em>, East side)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"316\">\n<p data-start=\"261\" data-end=\"316\"><strong data-start=\"261\" data-end=\"276\">172.22.23.4<\/strong> (replacing the former <em data-start=\"299\" data-end=\"304\">lj7<\/em>, West side)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The drivers are available at this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.support.xerox.com\/en-us\/product\/versalink-b7025-b7030-b7035\/downloads?platform=all&amp;category=&amp;language=en&amp;attributeId=\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"80\" data-end=\"110\"><strong data-start=\"80\" data-end=\"110\">To configure the printers:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"112\" data-end=\"135\"><strong data-start=\"116\" data-end=\"133\">Windows users <\/strong>After downloading the drivers, go to Start \u2192 Settings \u2192 Devices \u2192 Printers &amp; scanners, then select Add a printer. Wait for the system to search for nearby printers. When the printer does not appear, click \u201cThe printer that I want isn\u2019t listed\u201d, then choose to add a new printer using a TCP\/IP address. Select this option and click Next. Set the Device Type dropdown to <em data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"549\">Autodetect<\/em>, then enter the printer\u2019s IP address in the Hostname or IP address field and check the option Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use. Click Next and wait for the system to connect to the printer and download the required drivers (for Xerox B7030, use the PCL6 driver).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"112\" data-end=\"135\"><strong data-start=\"873\" data-end=\"888\">MacOS users <\/strong>Open the Apple menu, click System Preferences, then Printers &amp; Scanners. To add the printers, click the \u201c+\u201d button and add the printer using the IP tab, selecting the AirPrint protocol.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"112\" data-end=\"135\"><strong>Linux users<\/strong>: Go to Control Center \u2192 Printing, then click Add. Fill in the Device URI field with the printer\u2019s IP address and click Forward. Select the drivers by choosing Select printer from database, then: Make: Generic Model: PCL Laser. If this does not work (starting from Ubuntu 22.04, Xerox Versalink printers no longer appear among installable models, and the .ppd file from the Xerox website does not work), try the following procedure: generate a .ppd file by redirecting the output of the terminal command: driverless ipp:\/\/&lt;PRINTER_IP&gt;\/ipp into a file with the .pdd extension, where &lt;PRINTER_IP&gt; is \u00a0172.22.23.3 or 172.22.23.4. When adding the printer, enter: ipp:\/\/&lt;PRINTER_IP&gt; in the URI field. Select \u201cProvide PPD file\u201d and upload the .ppd file generated in the previous step. &lt;PRINTER_IP&gt; is 172.22.23.3 or 172.22.23.4.
